How Does Reiki Work?

Energy is all around and within us. From our own energy that surrounds us in the form of aura, right down to the cellular level. Sometimes we neglect the things we can't see, like energy - but balancing our energy is vital to our well-being.

 

Reiki works to open blocked energy channels and balance our energy centres or chakras. When energy channels are unblocked and opened, messages are transmitted throughout our nervous systems more efficiently - improving circulation, calming breathing, reducing pain and allowing the mind to enter a state of peace and relaxation.​

A Reiki practitioner is attuned to channel naturally existing universal energy.

I work with you to ground you, unblock and open energy channels, release stagnant energy,  balance and center your mind and body, and recharge your mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional energies.

How Often Should I Have Reiki?

If you are trying to work through an imbalance you may begin with 3  sessions spaced 1 to 2 weeks apart.

When balance is achieved and you wish to maintain or have regular sessions, once a month is suggested.

What Happens During a Reiki Session?

A Reiki session is typically 60 minutes long. (You can also request a shorter session).

I provide a peaceful and relaxing environment for you to sit, or lay down in. Soft lighting, music, and blankets are provided for your comfort. I use a combination of hands-on and hovering hand placements to gently move energy within and throughout your body. Touch-free sessions are also available. 

Because energy is always changing, each session brings different results.

For best results:

It is suggested to be well hydrated and to refrain from caffeine and stimulants before your session

Distance Reiki

Reiki can be sent to you no matter where you are. It's a good option for people who prefer to remain in the comfort of their own homes and is just as effective as in-person Reiki. I use the same care in setting up the environment for distance reiki as I do for an in-person session.

Origins

Reiki is an ancient practice that originated from laying on hands thousands of years ago.

In the 1920s, Dr. Mikao Usui developed a form of Reiki called Usui Shiki Ryoho.

I practice Usui Reiki at the Master level.

The word Reiki is a combination of the Japanese words Rei and Ki.

"Rei" is the higher intelligence of the universe. "Ki" is the non-physical energy that exists in all living things.
